Ken alongside his wife Cathy dove into the world of pets when they started a Kennel together in the ‘80s breeding dogs. After spending some time in the breeding industry, they decided to bring affordable products to the table starting Countryside Pet Supply. Countryside started in 1988 with a one-page paper catalog. 

In 1999 Ken built our first website. He then decided to discontinue the paper catalog and take Countryside completely e-commerce by 2002. 

When Ken was partially retired, he flew to Washington DC to speak with Congress about his opposition to the Marketplace Fairness Act (taxing internet sales) at the request of eBay and PayPal. He retired in 2018, however, he remained available for consultation after turning the business over to his wife Cathy and daughter, Heather. 

Ken’s mission with Countryside Pet Supply was always to bring quality affordable products to breeders and pet owners. 

Sadly, Ken passed away on January 30^th, 2021 at his home. We hope to continue to honor him and the business that he built with his bare hands.
