We initially bought two scanner a few years ago. They’ve been great. Found out our animal control officers didn’t have one so we gifted one to them, hoping it will help save a pet not having to ever make it to the shelter. It was a chunk out of our small, non-profit’s budget but hopefully will “pay” for itself in the good it will provide. On checking, it’s also the lowest cost unit we could find and was delivered within 2 days.

I do rescue work in the free-roaming cat community. Many times I have had to scramble to get a cat scanned by either taking it to a vet or finding another volunteer with a scanner. I finally decided to buy my own, and I'm so glad I did. My Hero arrived quickly and in perfect condition; I was very happy with the transaction. It is lightweight and easy to use, and is now a valuable tool in my rescue go-bag. I should have purchased this long ago!

The Hero Handheld Universal Microchip Reader is great. We run into animals with older 10 digit chips and some of the newer readers don't read them. The Hero does!
